Once Upon a Plate Recipes
The cookbook is divided into three categories: main dishes, side dishes, and snack/desserts. A table of contents will help you find just what you’re looking for.
Each recipe, in this oversized book, features a picture of the dish, the children’s book that inspired the recipe, and step by step, easy-to-follow instructions. Sometimes the book character even makes an appearance to cheer you on!
Bonus Sections
Not only is the cookbook filled with yummies, it features learning opportunities for our little chefs.
Kitchen Safety Tips are first and foremost, we don’t want anyone getting hurt while concocting their favorite recipe.
A Conversion Chart helps convert imperial and metric measure. No worries, each recipe features both measurements, it is a world-wide collaboration afterall. The chart outlines other valuable information: how many cups are in a pint, how many tablespoons are in a milliliter, and how many ounces are in a cup? If you ever need to convert Celsius and Fahrenheit, the formula is just a page away.
The Glossary is my favorite learning tool, from A to Z, it has young chefs covered. What exactly is; Dash? Zest? Saute? The comprehensive list covers four pages and is a super bonus feature. Insider information: Dash is also one of the author’s dog!
