The Doggos are heartwarming stories about dogs and the kids who love them. Each book focuses on the story of a sad, abandoned dog and an unhappy, out-of-control, or lonely child. The books are inspiring parables that show the special relationships between children and dogs.

Many children suffer from anxiety, loneliness, bullying, or hyperactivity, but when just the right dog comes along into his or her lives, magic happens. Dogs are reservoirs of unconditional love and can make a child feel valued and secure.

The Doggos – Charlotte & Boo Boo

Eight-year-old Charlotte wants to be a doctor when she grows up, just like Dr. Granny Snow. Her grandmother gives her a doctor’s bag for her birthday, with a real stethoscope and bandages. Charlotte tries to save every animal that she finds: frogs, bumblebees, butterflies, and a turtle. Some she can save, others she can’t.

When her dad finds a little puppy covered in cuts and bruises shivering behind a dumpster on a stormy night and brings the tiny animal home, Charlotte is thrilled to take care of him. She names him Boo Boo. Charlotte’s compassionate nature, and the nursing skills she learned from her grandmother, help restore Boo Boo to good health. Simon, Charlotte’s best friend, has a dog named Butch. Boo Boo and Butch often play together and become good friends, too.

In third grade, Charlotte and Simon have a new teacher from India named Mrs. Sharma, who teaches them about compassion. She explains that compassion is being kind, even to people you don’t really like. The kids all roll their eyes, but once Charlotte understands what compassion means, she explores her own nature and finds heroes she admires.

Lavishly illustrated with magical iPad paintings, the book includes membership to, “Kids Club Doggos,” and a special feature section called, “Charlotte’s Kings and Queens of Compassion.”

Review of The Doggos – Charlotte & Boo Boo

I mean seriously, can this cover get any cuter? The duo steals the show in this sweet story. Charlotte, an eight-year-old with a big dream (and an even bigger heart) practices her doctor skills on every critter she can find. Then comes Boo Boo, the puppy that becomes her best patient and friend. With love, patience, and plenty of bandages, she nurses him back to health. Her dream comes into focus when she learns about compassion. It is presented in such a heartwarming way. The illustrations are as beautiful as then story.
