If you like action, and plenty of it, this is the book for you… which leads to the entire series… The way the author was able to weave reality with fiction left me wondering if indeed this was a nonfiction book. In our rapidly changing world, this book could easily be a work of clairvoyance. I loved that the scientific aspect is to reduce carbon emissions! Once in place, murder and mayhem ensue over control. Be prepared to have your brain firing on all cylinders as the multiple locations and characters are a bit overwhelming in the beginning. It gets easier and is worth the effort. I can’t wait for the second book and will save my energy for another wild ride.

Review for Green Ray

The second installment of The Race is On series is now available, Green Ray. This politically charged sci-fi thriller is a mix of real problems and fiction. With characters concerned with the climate, terrorists, and the government who all want to use the new technology for different reasons, it’s never ending suspense. I appreciated the chapter time frame to keep everything in order. The books can be read as a stand alone but seriously, start at the beginning. You won’t be sorry.

This is the third book in the races on series I’m grateful I got them at the same time and didn’t have to wait for the next book.

The twists continue as more adventure is on the horizon. All the things I’ve said in the first two books in the series, continues. Strong characters, putting the reader into the scenery, and short chapters are among my favorite. This book deals with environmental awareness, political intrigue, and global warming. There is certainly no time to get bored.

Review for Godwin’s Revenge

Book 4 of the Race is On Series. This author has technothrillers down to a “science”. Each book has intensified the action and has gotten better. With ethical issues as the focal point and the political fallout that follows ramping up, twists come in waves. The characters remain diverse and multilayered, showing their deep investment in the project, or the push against it. Uma sinks to a low level in this book, and you can’t help but hurt for her, even when she’s not so… charming. I admire her dedication to the cause and her authenticity in holding to her beliefs. The book wraps up with a jaw-dropping thud, and I’m out of books. How exactly does one wait for the next book? Not funny. LOL

The Author of The Race is On Series

OC Heaton writes what he loves to read, well researched big issue thrillers inside a complex plot of twists and turns.

The result is The Race Is On Series, an idea he had on a trip to Iceland. The first in
the series is called Leap. This tells the tale of a device that has the power to halt global warming. The ensuing race to control the power of this machine will continue throughout the sequel to Leap, called Green Ray.  

Green Ray weaves fact with fiction. Encompassing the 2009 global financial meltdown, Al Qaeda, a new US President, and a cornered CIA; another delightful tall concoction, but hopefully a credible tale.

OC Heaton lives in Leeds, UK, with the love of his life and their two daughters. It rains a lot in Leeds but that works out well for research and writing!
