I’ve been waiting (not so) patiently for my turn on the All They Ask For Is Everything by Hadley Leggett. This is a fantastic book, read on.

About the Book

Determined to be a better mother than her own, Hannah has devoted her life to her daughters. She ignores her increasing exhaustion and isolation as a widowed mom—until a disastrous mistake lands the girls in foster care.

Julie is single and lonely and dreams of being a mother. After infertility issues lead her to foster parenting, she falls head over heels for Hannah’s daughters. About The Author

Hadley Leggett writes layered book club fiction exploring truth in shades of gray. Before becoming a novelist, her winding career path included degrees in medicine, biochemistry, Spanish, and science journalism, as well as a ten-year stint as a stay-at-home mom. She began writing fiction — her secret lifelong dream — when her youngest child started preschool and she finally got a moment to herself.

Leggett’’s short stories and essays have appeared in the Bellevue Literary Review, Literary Mama, and Halfway Down the Stairs, and her science writing can be found at Wired.com and Stanford News. She lives in Seattle with her husband and three children, as well as her parents, three cats, and an ever-rotating troop of foster kittens. My Thoughts – All They Ask For Is Everything

With relatable characters, this book is everything you could ask for. Three women, Elaine, Julie, and Hannah will each pull your heartstrings in different ways. You will love them, understand them, and cheer for each. In the supporting role is the overworked social worker from Child Protective Services. These women just want what’s best for two adorable and innocent children. This is a debut novel, in my opinion, we couldn’t have asked for better. A story that will stay with you long after “the end”.
