You can’t help but hug Tempesta from the moment she’s introduced. Her mother died when she was barely a teenager. Her father is unsupportive. And her grandmother is nothing but nasty. When her father unexpectedly dies, she finds out she isn’t mentioned in his will. Wow. Her mother did leave her a bequest. Tempesta leaves New York for France and ends up buying a manor in the small town where her mother lived. Here, they honor tradition. Mayor Pau remembers her mother and fears Tempesta may cause problems too. Tempesta soon learns her herb skills can help save the store and school.

Have you ever looked at a book cover and just knew you’d love the book? I’ve waited (less than) patiently for my spot on this tour. Having been to the south of France, I even have a handmade satchel filled with lavender (my favorite herb). I enjoyed being immersed in this culture and cheered for Tempesta to find herself and delight in a better life. I loved this book.

About The Author

Aimie K. Runyan writes to celebrate history’s unsung heroines. She has been honored as a Historical Novel Society Editors’ Choice selection, as a three-time finalist for the Colorado Book Awards, and as a nominee for the Rocky Mountain Fiction Writer of the Year. Aimie is active as an educator and speaker in the writing community and beyond.
